As the Holiday Season approaches, Colorado weather brings a blast of perfectly appropriate cold and snowy weather. Around here, well, we’ve had our fireplace set to “roar” for days on end. And I admit, there have been a couple days I haven’t set foot outside the house. (Here is where I publicly thank friends and family for helping with our small herd of horses.) With 50 degree swings in temperature, hitting lows of minus 12, its a full time job asking the question… which blanket tonight? Mid-weight, heavy weight, stable blanket underneath, do you still have the neck cover?; and a Sisyphean feat ‘wardrobing’ these animals with every Channel 7 weather update.
This season, I took the opportunity to feather our nest by decorating the house in Holiday pink and creating an atmosphere readied for small gatherings, impromptu stop-by’s, quiet evenings and warm memories.
Our little farmhouse proves to be a happy backdrop for a spiked hot chocolate bar, cranberry gin fizz drinks, Christmas carol playlists and sharing funny stories with friends about our equine adventures. So. Many. Funny. Stories!
So, come on in, shake off the snow and stay awhile. Comfy, cozy are we. Oh, and would you like marshmallows with that?
