Boo! On Briggs Street 2019

October 24, 2019 By Natalie Quaratino

Boo! On Briggs Street is an annual event held in Historic Old Town Erie, this year on Saturday, October 26, 2019.  The event kicks off at 4pm (come early for street parking, or head down on bikes if you are local – the weather is supposed to be fantastic this year!) and ends around 7pm.  The event and trick-or-treating are free, but if you would like to participate in any of the contests, there is a $5.00 entry fee. Contests this year are:

  1. Costume contests
    1. Up to 3 years old
    2. 4-7 years old
    3. 8-12 years old
    4. 12 to adult
    5. Best family/group/pair costume
    6. Best pet costume
  2. Mummy Wrap
  3. Pie Eating Contest

Trick-or-treating is available at local businesses as well as a trunk-or-treat in the parking lot at Moffat and Briggs.

Local businesses (including Colorado Safari Properties!) are also participating in a storefront decorating contest.  Please vote for us for the People’s Choice Award by voting before October 25 at the following location!

This year, our display is “Homemade Hansel and Gretel.”  Check out pictures of the assembly and final product below!

Photo of paint and craft supplies for Boo! on Briggs

Let’s start with some huge starlight mints, candy corn, and vicious gingerbread men…

Photo of paper mache gumdrop without paint and glass of whiskey

Can’t do paper mache without some scotch!

Photo of cut construction paper glued on to poster board

Necco Wafers – the candy that is only good for “roof tiles” for our windows.

Photo of pool noodles made into candy cane window trim

How about some candy cane window trim?

A photo of a red paper mache gumdrop

A finished gumdrop! Don’t lick it – it tastes like Epsom salt and lacquer.

The finished product!  Come see us this weekend at Boo! On Briggs Street!
